SONA FOR SALONS & SPAS
Hands in foils? Sona's got the phone.
Every stylist knows the choice: interrupt a color to grab the phone, or let a booking go to voicemail. Sona ends it, answering every call, booking straight into your schedule, and explaining your policies the way you wrote them.
Free to start, no card. Paid plans include a local number.
Marrow Salon, this is Sona, the salon's AI receptionist — how can I help?
Hey! I need a balayage before a wedding on Saturday — do you have anything this week?
I have Thursday at 1:00 or Friday at 9:30. Balayage runs about two and a half hours, so you'd be ready for the wedding either way — which one?
Friday 9:30! How much is it again?
Balayage starts at $180, and there's a $30 deposit for weekend-adjacent slots — the front desk will be in touch about it. You're booked for Friday at 9:30!

The problem
The chair is full exactly when the phone rings.
What it costs
Busy hands
can't hold a phone
A color, a fade, a gel set — yours are full eight hours a day. The phone doesn't care, and neither does the client calling the next salon.
Friday hair
is an impulse with a deadline
Voicemail kills it; an instant answer converts it. The booking goes to whichever salon picks up first.
9–11 PM
is prime booking time
Clients plan their week from the couch. Salons that answer at night own the weekend calendar.
Use cases
Every open slot gets offered, even mid-color.
Booking inside the call
Reads the hours you set, offers real openings and books the one the client picks, without you putting down the foils.

Service & pricing questions
Prices, durations, and what “partial highlights” actually includes, answered from your menu, consistently.
Reschedules & cancellations
Applies your cancellation policy politely and releases the slot back to your book the moment it frees up.
Deposits & no-show policy
Explains your deposit and cancellation policy exactly as you wrote it, without awkwardness. Sona never takes payment over the phone.
Gift cards & products
Answers product questions and takes gift-card requests as messages for the front desk: the easiest revenue you're currently missing.
Group & event requests
Wedding party of six? Sona takes the date, the headcount and the services, and puts the request in your inbox for you to plan.

The questions salons and spas get all day.
Type as the caller
Don't take our word for it. Interrogate it.
Type what a customer would say on the phone. The replies come from a canned table for a fictional business — a real deployment answers from your own documents.

The panel
Every call lands somewhere. That somewhere is open.
Marrow Salon is a seeded salon workspace running the real dashboard — two weeks of calls, transcripts, bookings and agent config. Four chairs in the Mission, closed Sundays and Mondays. The 10 PM reschedules, the Saturday rush, and one disputed deposit.

03Outside 48 hours it carries; inside 24 it is held. Sona reads that sentence rather than improvising it, and the transcript shows which one it read.

Read-only means read-only: open every page, read every transcript, filter every list, change nothing. Editing, activating an agent, buying a number and inviting a teammate are blocked in the panel and again in the database. The callers and bookings are invented; the pipeline and the compliance copy they came from are the ones your own workspace would run.

FAQ
Questions salons and spas actually ask.
Does Sona keep a separate calendar for each stylist?
Not yet. Sona books against one shared schedule for the salon — the hours and booking rules you set — so it never double-books a start time. Individual calendars for each person on your team, and bookings sized to the service, are on the roadmap, not shipped.
Does it help with no-shows?
It explains your deposit and cancellation policy at booking, word for word, and handles the late-night reschedule calls that would otherwise turn into no-shows. It doesn't text clients or take payments.
Can it upsell without being pushy?
Sona mentions add-ons the way your best front desk would — “want a gloss with that?” — once, naturally, and drops it if the client isn't interested.
Does it work with our booking system?
Sona books against the availability you set in the dashboard — hours, booking rules, date overrides — so setup is about fifteen minutes and there is no calendar to connect. Salon-platform and calendar integrations are on the roadmap, not shipped.
What if a client insists on a human?
Sona transfers to the front desk instantly and passes along everything already discussed, so the client never repeats themselves.
